What is the Case Competition?
The annual SMA Case Competition gives students the opportunity to develop a solution to a problem outlined in a case and present the solution to a panel of judges from companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, comScore, New Engen, WWU faculty, and other local and Seattle area marketing firms.
Other valuable experience includes networking opportunities with the judges and enhancing strategy, quick-thinking, presenting, and marketing skills. It's a great resume booster and provides real world experience to participants. Lunch will also be provided!
All team spots are filled this year. If you are interested in volunteering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How Does it Work?
Participants will sign up in teams of three, or individually, and we will try to assign individuals into teams of three. The groups will then be given 3 hours to read through a case, without the use of Internet, and develop a solution. For the initial round, each team will present the solution to a group of judges. After all teams have presented, the judges will then deliberate to choose the top three finalist who will move onto the final round, where teams will be given some time to edit and polish their final presentation before presenting to the entire panel of judges.
